My saree – one of the first I ever purchased for myself and a milestone that marks the beginning of my saree life. I have worn it only once in all these years, and I think that is a sign that this is much better off with someone who cherishes it more regularly.
Buttersoft as Bengal handloom cotton always is, this fabric moulds itself to the figure in the most beautiful way and feels breathable. It has sartorial stripes in pista green over an off white body, and kantha hand embroidery all over. A gem of handcrafted textile traditions – it has stripers of khesh, which is a traditional textile craft where scraps of textile are upcycled into a new saree by weaving into the weft as stripers. A truly, deeply sustainable gem of a saree which I hope finds a new mama who will take it out to many places!
