Kaleidoscope Ajrakh MulMul Saree – Indigo

 3,150.00

Intricate and delicate, hand blocked and naturally dyed. The print is evocative of trefoil lattices in historical architecture. This saree features a geometric pattern as if viewing shapes through a kaleidoscope, handcrafted in the Ajrakh tradition using only organic pigments – in this case, locally obtained from repurposed iron, gram flour and jaggery – for it’s vibrant hue on a soft and breezy cotton mul.

The Ajrakh process features several stages of hand block printing, layer upon layer, with washing and sun drying at each stage. Local herbs are used as color fixers and fabric softeners, and this all makes the fabric of this saree exceptionally, buttery soft.
