I'm back :) Thank you to those precious souls who I'm back :) Thank you to those precious souls who took to asking my beloved friends, emailing and WhatsApping about why they couldn't find me on Instagram. To think that somebody actually notices when you're gone from this cute, ephemeral little space; it fills me with a most joyous kind of wonder and amazement. I'd never once thought it would be worthy of notice. My friend and one among the most cherished collaborators on Revive.Style - the warm, talented and lovely Kalyani of @aarna.store - told me this morning that she received several worried enquiries from people unable to find my account. I'm safe and well. Five days ago, I found myself in a place that was mentally distressed and triggered enough to decide to go on a break from viewing any and all social media. I'm glad I took this pause and absorbed much needed introspective silence, and I'm even more glad that the volume of people who tried to check in with me have inspired and fuelled me to get back to creating art for Revive.Style with inspiration and motivation aplenty. I'm beyond grateful and so touched that you noticed I was gone in a mere five days, that you've never met me and yet you thought of me and cared to ask why 🤗 I haven't been able to respond to most emails or messages, and I'm so thankful to those precious friends who took on the task of responding on my behalf. Thank you for making me feel so loved, valued and appreciated - even if just for my work - when I needed it most 🌼 I thought #ReviveStyleWraps deserved a face at some point, so here's marsala lips, handloom Kasavu from Kerala and pearl bedecked silver from @aarna.store in sumptuous crescent moons, for we're not too far away from the eid ka chaand, sending love, prosperity and good wishes to everyone about to end their fast! 🌜 Tonight's a new moon night. Can you tell what's playing out on this hand embro Can you tell what's playing out on this hand embroidered scene? 🖤 Kantha, an embroidery tradition from West Bengal, on silk is #ReviveStyleWraps choice of the day. There's so many creatures to spot on this one. Sakura blossoms in silver drip from a necklace that I find the most enchanting from everything @aarna.store I've seen so far. It has an asymmetrically beautiful, flexible branch crafted in silver that the flowers are mounted upon, which can be gently twisted to any organic curvature I desire. Little buds of pearls emerge from the vine. The sprinkling of pearls upon the blossoms is truly the cherry on the cake! Absolutely loved styling this. Everything in this picture is teeming with life 🌸

Loved fully, and loved well 🤍🖤 Today I posted an article on the blog that I had so much fun curating and I'm so excited to share the beauty contained in it with my readers! It touches upon the history of costume and art jewellery in fashion, it's got a sprinkling of Coco Chanel's pearls of style wisdom, my own tips on styling jewellery with Indian and western ensembles coming from too many years of being obsessed with adornment, and most importantly - an assortment of select art jewellery pieces that I curated from the collection of @shoptarinika. These artisanal beauties look like they were meant to juxtapose upon each other, don't they? A stunning statement silver neckpiece from @aarna.store, delicate and imposing at once. An everything handcrafted and artisanal ensemble to send you serene, dreamy and peaceful vibes for April's Pink Moon Both precious silver earrings are beautiful trinkets of @aarna.store, draped in a handwoven kota doria dupatta that's further hand-embroidered with the daintiest floral butas en appliqué, and a chikankari hand-me-down kurta. I love the first one for its delicate, pearl-embellished, lightweight beauty, reminiscent of kashmiri shoulder grazing jhumkas. The second piece is more Afghan-esque and glimmers gorgeously when it catches light! Handicrafts from so many vibrant communities and creators, delicate all-white with glimmers of silver, all come together in this selenophile mood. I don't know if the moon will actually appear pink in our part of the world, but I'm excited to see her rise regardless. Are you going to be moon-gazing tonight? gold & silver ✨🤍 I slept in late even though gold & silver ✨🤍 I slept in late even though it's a Monday, and it came to me in a dream just moments before waking up to do a #ReviveStyleWraps with these specific sarees and my two identical gold-silver cluster neckpieces! I just love when that happens - the ideas that come to us in our dreams, or in other similar altered states of mind/reality apart from normal waking consciousness. It used to happen to me a lot back in design school, so many creative breakthroughs coming through from dreaming when asleep. I've suffered from nightmares for years, and they've naturally heightened in this lockdown, so a dream that inspires art is such a welcome change 🌼 Does this happen to anyone else too? Sarees: An Ajrakh on Maheshwari Cotton Silk, purchased directly at the source in Ajrakhpur from an artisan when I'd gone for my craft research. The cotton fish saree is a beautiful weave of Bengal, sourced from @letsgocoop. Neckpieces: Both purchased from @fabindiaofficial

Most days, I'm languished, hopeless and sad. I'm doom scrolling all the bad news, existential guilt, helplessness. Suddenly, someone pops up looking beautiful in a saree they dressed up in at home to feel good. Someones cooking something fancy for themselves. Someones mixing cocktails and so excited to share it with their little online world. Someones making art, or decorating their home, just because. All of these people are also sad, uncertain, depressed, helpless. You don't know that they've spent weeks feeling like they don't know who they're seeing in the mirror anymore, and that dress-up helps them feel more themselves. You don't know they have family suffering from covid at home, and their vacation throwbacks or DIY projects are a small respite from the constant terror of reality. Every single person's coping mechanism differs, and they're all allowed to take up space and show up absolutely however comforts them. I see people post happy, escapist things and it moves me to get off my phone, and go do something playful too, whatever is within my means. You don't guilt someone for wanting to share their joy. When looking at people post their non-Covid related joys - travel, clothes, activities, food, whatever - makes me feel bad about my life, depression or lack of motivation, I choose to NOT scroll and do a tech detox. I do not go telling them anything along the lines of, "Hey, you're not allowed to be happy during these times. You're insensitive for sharing that you found something to feel good about. Get in line and be noble by feeding the sad, bad vibration for us." This comes from reading @amarjyotchahal's post about how there is no right or wrong way to pandemic, a must read. Let people be. It's difficult enough already without us directing other's experiences. This is a time for showing more love and compassion towards everybody, from delivery agents to fellow humans in our online worlds. We are all allowed our full spectrum of human-ness.
