Marhaba Ajrakh MulMul Saree Black

 3,150.00

Intricate and delicate, hand blocked and naturally dyed. The print is evocative of trefoil lattices in historical architecture. This saree features floral patterning, handcrafted in the Ajrakh tradition using only organic pigments – in this case, locally obtained from repurposed iron, gram flour and jaggery – for it’s vibrant hue on a soft and breezy cotton mul.

The Ajrakh process features several stages of hand block printing, layer upon layer, with washing and sun drying at each stage. Local herbs are used as color fixers and fabric softeners, and this all makes the fabric of this saree exceptionally, buttery soft.

As of all handmade products, there may be slight irregularities and imperfections in the pattern which make it more beautiful. Handblocked sarees will always have slight discolouration, smudges or small splatters, this is perfectly normal and not considered a defect as it is natural for this to occur in products that are made by the hands of human artisans. The sarees are not eligible for return based on a handcrafted irregularity.

There will always be a slight variation in how the colour appears on your mobile/laptop screen versus how it will appear to your eyes in real life. Our sarees are always more vibrant and beautiful in real life. This is beyond our control, as camera and screen cannot capture colour the way our eyes perceive in real life. Kindly expect and anticipate this very natural and obvious variation.
